"House Party" contains many scenes of alcohol drinking, drug use (by humans and a koala), a little bit of violence, a few sexual situations, and almost constant use of profanity. As the original "House Party" came out of the hip-hop scene of the late '80s and early '90s, and starred rap duo Kid 'n Play, so too does the "House Party" reboot celebrate the world of rap. Musicians who appeared in the 2023 "House Party" include Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, GaTa, and Lil Wayne. Some athletes showed up, too, in the form of Los Angeles Laker star Anthony Davis and his teammate (and the film's producer) LeBron James.

The two conjure some youthful shenanigans upon learning that the celebrity will be out of town while they do their job to hopefully alleviate their dire situations, that is, to throw a huge party in the celebrity mansion. Discovery reboots the Kid ‘n Play ’90s comedy classic when House Party is set to release in theaters on Friday, January 13. Fittingly, the "House Party" at James' home has a star-studded guest list. While main characters portrayed by Tosin Cole and Jacob Lattimore take the spotlight, the party will feature appearances from Kid N' Play, Anthony Davis, Odell Beckham Jr., Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and Big Sean among many others. While this remix of "House Party" may leave some nostalgic for the original, it smartly doesn't try to copy the first film. However, it does stay true to the first version's celebration of friendship.

Their active support for each other often feels more profound and emotional than a silly comedy about partying at a famous person's house might suggest. Yet another House Party cast member who also has experience in the music business (among other various avenues of the entertainment industry) is D.C. Young Fly, who, also like Scott Mescudi, has played himself before — namely in his 2016 acting and feature film debut #DigitalLivesMatter. He would follow that up with the star-studded holiday comedy Almost Christmas, Mario van Peebles’ action thriller Armed, Netflix’s The Trap, and the 2019 sequel to the stoner movie favorite, How High.

‘House Party 2023’ is committed to keeping the spirit of comedy alive, and having D.C Young Fly in the House Party 2023 cast does just that. Adding a dollop of laughter to the potent mix, he ensures the Party doesn’t lose its funny bone. Coming in hot, Jacob Latimore is a talented actor, singer, and dancer widely recognized for displaying his acting chops in “The Maze Runner” and “Collateral Beauty”.
He played Cop #2 in "House Party 2," and appeared in 1993's series, "Townsend Television," which also featured John Witherspoon. Diamond's last role was in 2002 in an episode of "Teamo Supremo" as the voice of The Put Down Artist. He still performs stand-up, with tour dates listed on his personal website. He's also hosted shows, including "Your Big Break" and "Showtime at the Apollo," and branched out into stand-up comedy — not a big stretch, given his long friendship with comedian Bill Maher. Kid was a frequent guest on Maher's first talk show, "Politically Incorrect," and composed the theme song for Maher's HBO Show, "Real Time with Bill Maher," along with producers Buster & Shavoni.
The two of them are dropped from a promotion gig by Kyle and his gang (Guile and Larry) due to Damon having illicit involvement with Guile's cousin. Kevin asks Venus to supply him and Damon with the keys to the mansion, and she very reluctantly agrees.

A few weeks later, DC Young Fly was also announced as part of the cast (via ComicBook.com), although it's unclear what role he will play, followed by Karen Obilom ("Doom Patrol," via Variety). In July 2021, according to Deadline, Lendeborg walked away from the "Party" to attend to his mental health, and Jacob Lattimore of "The Chi" joined the movie in his stead. Another House Party cast member who also has experience in the music business is Scott Mescudi, who, also like Jacob Latimore, made his acting debut on One Tree Hill, which marked the first time the rapper, also known as Kid Cudi, played himself.

Directed by the new kid on the block, Calmatic has been molding his storytelling prowess one frame at a time. The screenplay helmed by the dynamic duo Jamal Olori and Stephen Glover masterfully captures contemporary culture, humor, and beats, much like ‘House Party’ did for the bygone era. With the trailer, and the circumstances of the trailer's release and presentation strongly suggesting it, "House Party" is a pretty raunchy movie. Its entire conceit concerns an epic party, after all, and a lot of wild things tend to go on at such affairs, particularly in movies. A lot of that was hinted at in the film's official trailer — its "Red Band" trailer, actually, advising potential viewers to proceed with caution as they even watch the technically safe advertisement for a film packing a lot of grown-ups only material.
